Facial
Aesthetics

Fine lines between the brows, or a face that looks more tired than you feel. These changes are a normal part of ageing, and whether to treat them is entirely your choice. At Dr Kagiso Moloi and Associates, non-surgical facial treatments are offered with the same measured approach as dental care.

What Is Facial Aesthetic Treatment?

Facial aesthetics refers to non-surgical, injectable treatments that soften the visible signs of ageing. The two most common are anti-wrinkle injections, which relax the muscles that cause expression lines, and dermal fillers, which restore volume in areas such as the lips. Dr Moloi holds a certificate in aesthetic dermatology, which allows him to offer these treatments alongside his work as a dentist in Windhoek. Dentists study the muscles of the face in depth during their training, which is one reason facial aesthetics sits comfortably within a dental practice.

Who Is It Suitable For?

Treatment suits healthy adults who want a subtle refresh rather than a dramatic change. Please let Dr Moloi know beforehand if you:

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • take blood thinners or anything else that affects bleeding
  • have had facial injectables in the last six months
  • have a history of cold sores and are considering lip treatment

What Happens At Your Appointment?

Every treatment starts with a consultation, which can be booked through the dental practice in the same way as any other appointment. Dr Moloi will ask what you would like to change and explain what is realistic for your face. Some redness or small bruises may appear afterwards and usually fade within a few days.

What Results Can You Expect?

Anti-wrinkle injections take about one to two weeks to show their full effect and typically last three to four months. Fillers are visible straight away, and depending on the area treated, results can last six to twelve months or longer. Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. Because the lips and teeth frame each other, some patients choose to look at both together, for example by replacing a worn or discoloured crown before having lip filler.

If you would like to explore facial aesthetics with a dentist in Windhoek, the consultation is a relaxed conversation about what you would like to change and what is realistic for you. There is no obligation to go ahead, and you are welcome to take time to think it over.
